This weekend, the Teams comp is all set for its first novelty Ambrose round. It’s a format that could lead to some high scores or potentially create some friendly competition within teams. It’s essential to fill out the scorecards accurately with both players’ names and scores to ensure everything runs smoothly.
For this upcoming round, pay close attention to the details. The front 9 will be played in a 2-man Ambrose format. The standard Ambrose rules apply, where you choose the best ball and have a club length from the marked ball on the fairway, while on the greens, you have a putter head’s length from the marked ball. Handicaps will be totaled and then divided by 4. If a team of two manages to score for both players, their handicaps will be adjusted accordingly, shared, and then divided by 4.
Players have the option to play twice, either with alternate teammates or on another team’s player. However, it’s essential to note that these alternate players should not participate in the same round, to prevent any confusion. If there are any uncertainties or questions, please feel free to contact or message Kyle Murray for further clarification. Cheers and good luck on the course!
